Research Interests: Seismic imaging and inversion, reservoir characterization.  Associate Director of the Consortium for Research in Elastic Wave Exploration Seismology (CREWES), Principal Investigator of Consortium of Heavy Oil Research by University Scientists (CHORUS), Associate Director of the Fold-Fault Research Project (FRP)..

Teaching Involvement: Analysis and integration of geophysical and geological data; qualitative and quantitative interpretation; Chair in Applied Seismology at Memorial University of Newfoundland from 1993-1997, SEG Distinguished Lecturer in 1991 and Editor of Geophysics 1997-1999 and CSEG Journal 1995-1997; Chair in Exploration Geophysics, U of Calgary, 1997- 2002; President-Elect, SEG, 2007; Honorary Member of SEG and CSEG.
